Emergency protest tonight (Friday) at 10:45pm at the free speech plaza in solidarity with Eric Jackson

The Coalition for Compassionate Community reports that prominent homeless activist Eric Jackson was arrested on Wednesday, for protesting current unconstitutional homeless laws and policies at the free speech plaza downtown. A local attorney informed the officers arresting him on trespassing charges that they were violating his civil rights but was ignored.

The Coalition is calling for an emergency protest tonight (Friday) at 10:45pm at the free speech plaza in solidarity with Jackson, & all of the area’s unsheltered people. That’s 10:45pm Friday – tonight, at the Wayne Morse Free Speech Plaza in downtown Eugene, 8th Street and Oak.
